Not receiving auto-responder

Check that the ‘from’ email field is using a legit address and check your spam/junk folder for the responder email.  If a generic or test email address is used then often your email client will pick this up and mark it spam… so it appears to you that the auto-responder isn’t working when really it is.

You can also try putting WordPress into debug mode and checking the log to confirm whether emails are going out correctly.
